Who is la souris globe-trotteuse? 🐭
« Who would be insane enough to die without having at least made the round of his prison? »
Marguerite Yourcenar, The Abyss (L’Œuvre au noir), 1968

My name is Miranda and I am a curious mouse. Rather than choosing a traditional life built around buying a mousehole on credit and raising numerous little mice, I decided to travel across Europe and then the world to discover other cultures, landscapes and… local gastronomies!
I created this website in 2015 with one clear goal: sharing my experiences, best tips, and photographs. To me, the world is best discovered through images.
« If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine… It is lethal. »
Paulo Coelho
Comfort travel on a budget
I am a budget-conscious mouse with modest means, but a strong desire to explore as much as possible in comfortable conditions.
My secret? Low-cost flights, hunting for the best deals, and a severe allergy to tourist traps. This approach allows us not only to travel at a lower cost, but also to truly immerse ourselves in local cultures and connect with the residents.
🐢 The art of taking your time (Slow Travel)
Marathon trips? No, thanks! I am a mouse who loves to stroll, wander into non-touristy neighbourhoods, and soak up the atmosphere of a city. Throughout my articles, I share my advice on how to travel around Europe without rushing, along with practical transport details and my best restaurant recommendations.
Explore my destinations
The website is designed to make your research easy: you can browse using the drop-down menus or explore via our interactive maps. European countries are organised into major regions (Western, Northern, Eastern, and Southern) according to the UN classification.
Collaborations and partnerships
To ensure complete editorial independence, I very rarely publish sponsored articles, and they are always clearly disclosed at the bottom of the page. In order to keep the website sustainable while remaining completely free to access, I rely on two funding methods:
📢 Advertising
Only Ezoic advertisements are used to fund the technical hosting of this website.
🤝 Affiliation
I partner with Booking.com, Tiqets, Civitatis, and GetYourGuide to offer you accommodation options and skip-the-line tickets.
The mouse’s commitment: we earn a small commission for purchases made through these links, at no absolute extra cost to you. However, our content is always guided first and foremost by service quality. I only recommend places and services that I would suggest even without affiliate links.
Similarly, all the images on this website are our own professional photographs (with rare, explicitly stated exceptions). I remain open to collaborations, on the sole condition that they align with my editorial line, my areas of interest, and, above all, that they respect my readers.
They trust us
We would like to warmly thank the museums, tourism boards, and historical sites for their press invitations. These collaborations allow us to describe the tour routes and our experiences as accurately as possible, while maintaining complete editorial independence.

What is the mouse’s editorial line?
Since its creation in 2015, la souris globe-trotteuse has committed to providing reliable, practical, and above all, deeply human travel information. Far from generic lists generated by artificial intelligence or bland guides, every article is the result of real, hands-on experience in the field.
🛡️ Complete independence
Our freedom of expression is our most valuable asset. Whether our trip is self-funded or part of a press visit, we maintain absolute objectivity: we share our favorite discoveries but also our honest disappointments. Our readers know that if we recommend a place or a restaurant, it is because it truly deserves it.
♿ Tourism and disability
Travelling with a disability should never be an obstacle to culture. This is why we place accessibility at the heart of our articles: we systematically check for ramps, elevators, and potential physical challenges (such as cobblestones or stairs). Our goal is to allow everyone to plan their trips with peace of mind and dignity.
Why trust us?
Our approach is built upon three fundamental pillars:
- Field expertise: we only write about what we have personally seen, tasted, or visited.
- Practical accuracy: we make it a point of honor to keep our data up to date (rates, schedules, transport).
- A modest tone: the mouse remains humble. We do not look at ourselves as “influencers” but as passionate travellers sharing our best tips with our peers.
